SALT Our Mission and Who We Are

Every day people ask us – “What does SALT Projects do”?

In its simplest pitch, SALT Projects is a consultation agency specialising in arts, heritage,  community, fundraising and events.

For us, there is synergy between the projects that we deliver, and are complimented by the expertise that its founder, Charlotte can offer.

We take pride and ownership in all projects that we work on. All of our clients and artists are carefully selected to collaborate with and represent. We are proud of the business partners and community networks that we work with.

We like a challenge and our creative approach lends itself well to a broad range of projects and events. We are not afraid of rolling our sleeves up and getting stuck in, whilst also stepping back and focusing on strategic consultation work.

Story of SALT

Let us set the scene. It was a Sunday in March and Charlotte (Founder of SALT Projects) was walking along the beautiful Fistral beach with her family.

“We were drawing shapes and lines in the sand taking in the fresh sea air. We got home feeling refreshed after our walk and I was holding a pot of Cornish Sea Salt in my hands and saw the circle on the top of the tub. SALT…..!

For me, SALT represents where my career has grown, living by the sea, inhabiting a fresh and organic approach to working and delivering projects. SALT allows me to work on the many projects and across the various sectors that I love and am passionate about.”

Anything is possible with a pinch of SALT.

Charlotte is the founder and Director of Salt Projects Ltd.

She has studied and practised as a fine artist and curator. For the past 15 years she has worked in the arts, heritage, community and events industry. Collaborations and employers have included Borlase Smart John Wells Trust, Christopher Tate, City of Lights CIC, Falmouth Art Gallery, Hofmeister Enterprises Ltd, Inner Circle Consulting, Tate St Ives, Trebah Gardens and Truro City Council.

For many years she balanced her freelance practice alongside various jobs which enabled her to develop her skills and experience, whilst also establishing a strong business network.

In March 2019, Charlotte took a leap of faith to establish Salt Projects Cornwall Ltd, igniting creativity in the community through managing and delivering grass roots projects, parades, exhibitions, commercial events and digital communication. This company celebrates Charlotte’s passion for art, working with people and making great things happen.

TESTIMONIALS

Having collaborated with Salt Projects on events I have been struck by Charlotte’s joyful innovation, tenacious ‘can do’ approach, practical know-how and her next level organisation skills. She makes the right things happen, at the right time and in the right way. I have also welcomed Charlotte as an artist representative at the Cornwall Shop Small Markets where I have been impressed by the creative consideration, pragmatic support and passionate dedication that she gives to each of her artists. If you have the opportunity to work with Charlotte I recommend you take it!

Charlotte has been an amazing support for me. She has helped me unravel my bundle of creative ideas and organise them into projects. Helped with editing quite a lot of my written work and art applications. And is always on hand for advice and curation. I’m really looking forward to continuing to work with her in 2021 and beyond. So brilliant to find someone so versatile and talented. Thank you Charlotte.

I think the day went extremely well, and we have had lots of great feedback from both members of the public and organisations who participated on the day. You had very little time to organise the event, and normally these things would take months, however you pulled it off in just a few weeks. Organising something like Remembrance Day is a very tricky task, and it’s important to get it right because of how public it is. You did a wonderful job.
I, and Truro City Council, am very grateful to you for all your hard work, Charlotte. Thank you.
